Why in food combining there are rules to separate certain types of food?
There are two reasons why food combining separates or combines certain types of foods, namely:
- Different types of foods (such as carbohydrates, fats, and proteins) will be digested by the body in different ways and speeds. If put together, this can cause food "queues" to be digested in the body and adversely affect the digestive system. For example, it can cause flatulence, gas stomach, or abdominal pain.
- Different types of food require different enzymes to digest food. The enzyme works with different ph levels in the gut. Thus, the body can not digest different types of food at a time.
However, that does not seem right
In fact, there is no evidence to support these two reasons. In fact, food combining has existed over 100 years ago, where knowledge of nutrition and digestion has not developed. However, now that knowledge has developed and denied it all.The body can digest different types of food at a time
Each food almost always contains several combinations of carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. And, the body is always able to digest it. For example, vegetables are a source of carbohydrates, but also contain several grams of protein. Meat is a source of protein but also contains less fat.
So, you do not need to separate food while eating. The body is able to digest everything, it is a unity of the digestive process in the body. The process of digestion of food starts from the mouth, then to the stomach, small intestine, and then the large intestine.
There will be no "queue" of food digested in the stomach and cause a fermentation process. The stomach itself produces stomach acid that can kill bacteria so there will be no fermentation in the stomach. Fermentation will only occur in the large intestine, this is a mechanism that the body has to remove waste substances that are not needed.
Keep in mind, the human body has a digestive system, not a digestive sac. So, all foods can be digested in one body with each mechanism. This is because the process of digestion through which each nutrient from food will be different. However, this process will not cause a food "queue" to be digested or fermented in the stomach.
Ph gastrointestinal tract not changed due to food
The reason for the existence of food combining is because each food has a different ph which can affect digestive enzymes. Indeed, the digestive enzymes require certain levels of ph in order to function in the body and the enzymes in the digestion require different ph to activate it.
However, eating foods with acid or base ph is not always changing the gastrointestinal tract. Your body is very clever from what you imagine. The body has its own mechanism to maintain the ph in the digestive tract.
For example, the stomach lining releases stomach acid so it can control the acidity (ph) of the stomach. The pancreas helps control the pH in the small intestine. Given the mechanism, the digestive tract can overcome the acidity in food.
