1. Olive oil
Olive oil has been believed for thousands of years to keep hair healthy. This hair oil works by penetrating the hair shaft and maintaining the moisture of the hair, thus increasing the softness and strengthening of the hair roots.
Olive oil can also smooth the hair protective coating (cuticle), thus making hair look shiny. The content of oleic acid, palmitic acid, and squalene in olive oil can make that happen. In fact, many shampoos, conditioner, and pomade products contain such ingredients in the form of syntheses made in the laboratory.
For those of you who have dry hair and thick, branched hair, and often do the hair treatment with chemicals, it may be appropriate to use olive oil to make hair healthier.
2. Coconut Oil
Coconut is a very useful tree in all its parts, including the oil it produces. Coconut oil can help you maintain healthy hair and scalp. Fatty acids contained in coconut oil can provide nutrients and moisturize the scalp and hair.
A study published in the Journal of Cosmetic Science in 2005 reported that coconut oil is able to penetrate hair follicles more than other materials common in conditioners. Thus, coconut oil can keep the hair moist and make the scalp more healthy.
Coconut oil is also believed to increase hair growth and make hair grow thicker. However, this coconut oil can not treat the cause of hair loss. Antibacterial properties in coconut oil can also fight fungal infections on the scalp, such as ringworm, and also treat scalp dandruff.
3. Jojoba oil
Oil for other hair is jojoba oil. Jojoba oil comes from jojoba plant, Simmondsia Chinensis. This oil is rich in fatty acids so it can increase the moisture of your hair. Therefore, this oil is suitable for you who have dry or damaged hair. Also, it can be used to remove dandruff because dry scalp usually can cause dandruff hair.
The use of jojoba oil on hair also does not leave any residue so it will not cause hair to dandruff. You can apply jojoba oil directly on the scalp, let stand for a few minutes, and wash hair with shampoo.
4. Castor oil
One more oil that may benefit your hair health is castor oil or castor oil. Although castor oil has not really been scientifically proven beneficial to hair, many people believe that castor oil can grow hair or to reduce hair loss.
Some people report that the use of castor oil once a month can increase hair growth three to five times than normal. Normally, the average human hair grows more than one centimeter every month.
